about me
Born and raised in Costa Rica to an Ecuadorian dad and a Mexican mom, Isa has always loved words, music and storytelling. In second grade, she tried to direct a movie with her class. To her frustration, everyone else got tired after a few days of shooting.
Eventually, she refined her leadership skills a bit, and at seventeen, her work as a young theatre producer in Costa Rica led to being selected for a distinction for her leadership in the artistic field by then-Vice President, Ana Helena Chacón.
Her growing passion for storytelling led Isa to the University of Minnesota Guthrie BFA Actor Training Program, from which she graduated summa cum laude. She has since worked regionally across the US, and more recently acquired her O1-B work visa, a visa given to individuals that demonstrate extraordinary ability in the arts.
Beyond acting, Isa loves writing, dialect work, translation (Spanish-to-English and vice-versa), people-watching and love. She combined all these passions in the development of her first play, a one-woman bilingual verbatim play, the first version of which was produced at UMN Guthrie's Free Play Festival. Beyond performing, Isa loves voice & dialect coaching, teaching and writing.
Isa is also a proud older sister, overeager board game player, messy doodler, passenger princess (I’m working on it), s’more roasting connoisseur, occasional snotter and lifelong student. She feels like the luckiest person in the world to have so many wonderful people in her life y los ama muchísimo.
